The treachery of the free world

Half a million children became refugees in the last five months, more than a 100,000 children a month.
The attention of the international community is not focused on them. A very small minority of newspapers mentions them.

It is not clear how many of them have died from disease. They have joined around 900,000 children from the same area who became refugees before them.

In total, 1.4 million children, according to a new UNESCO report, are living in hellish conditions. And there is no crying and no wailing and no international commotion and no demonstrations in Munich or Paris or London or San Francisco, not for or against them. They simply don't take exist.

But they do exist. Children of flesh and blood. They are victims of the fear sown by the terrorist organization Boko Haram.

The Invasion of Europe

Pat Condell is out with an eye-opening monologue this morning, hammering the EU for for breaking the law and allowing this invasion of Muslims into Europe. Condell points out that this is already very bad for women as more and more of them are being raped or forced into prostitution in these German refugee centers while the German police remain quiet about it because they don’t want to legitimize critics of mass migration. Condell quips ‘how noble of them.’

Che Guevara’s Pope

Pope Francis’s address to Congress will prove a concluding flourish to the descent of the Catholic Church into an accessory for modern man’s temptation toward totalitarianism.
I am writing this on the eve of Pope Francis’ address to the joint session of Congress. Permit me a confession of distaste for tomorrow’s extravaganza and disinterest in the details of a media-conscious homily to the nation.
In large measure, Thursday’s propaganda event will prove a concluding flourish to what this pope is on course to achieve: the descent of the Catholic Church into one more geopolitical “ism,” a pious-seeming companion to every other materialist -ism that tempts modern man away from freedom and toward submission to totalitarian order. Since ascending to the papacy, Francis’ actions have served a mongrel papo-caesarism that drains Christianity of its soul. Christian idiom degrades into the carrier of a secular agenda.
Ideolatry, the idolatry of fixed ideas, is as rampant in the Vatican as in any other directorate, and just as dangerous. Even more so. Because the pope commands deference from the world’s peoples, the present object of his worship—from climate-change dogma to the antagonisms peculiar to an anti-democratic Leftist elite—disfigures the faith of billions. It becomes a golden calf festooned with gospel quotes….
Something in me gave way at the sight of an exultant image of Che Guevara overseeing the altar in Plaza de la Revolución, the approved site of the recent papal Mass in Havana. A sadistic, murderous thug looked down on attendees in an obscene burlesque of Christ Pantocrator. Under the gaze of a butcher and amid symbols of the regime, Jorge Bergolio joined his fellow Argentine in service to the calamitous Cuban revolution. The entire spectacle played like a farcical inversion of John Paul II’s presence in Warsaw’s Victory Square, in 1979, and in stark contrast to the message he brought to Cuba in 1998
….Make no mistake—there is malice in this pope. It takes little sophistication to realize that the intentions by which people understand themselves to be motivated are often not the ones that really drive them to speak and act as they do. However incoherent Francis’ logic on issues from economics to munitions, his stridency makes clear his antipathy toward the developed world. In this, he is a commonplace Leftist ideologue intent on finding ever-new sources of incrimination in the works of the West.

Our Delicate Muslims by David Cole

A phone rings in the Oval Office. President Obama drops his practice club and rushes to his desk. Raising the handset of the turquoise-green, crescent-decorated emergency phone to his ear, he listens, his face reflecting the intensity of the moment. It’s as he feared—somewhere in America, a Muslim’s feelings are hurt. Brunch with Pharrell will just have to wait; this president has a tweet to compose.
Okay, so maybe it didn’t exactly happen that way. But last week, when a Muslim high school kid’s homemade clock that resembled a suitcase bomb was bafflingly mistaken for a suitcase bomb, the most powerful man in the world took time out of his day to tweet support for the humiliated student. But this piece isn’t about Mark Zuckerberg (or Obama, who also happened to send a supportive tweet). It’s about how Muslims in the West are often held to the kind of standard normally reserved for the delicate or the disabled....

“Islamophobia,” my ass. There is a double standard, but Muslims come out on the winning side of it. They are given the kind of free pass normally reserved for the mentally retarded: “Just let it go…they don’t know any better.” You would think that Muslims would find this condescending attitude offensive, but don’t expect to hear any complaints. Far from being America’s “Rain Men,” most Muslims are perceptive enough to know a good thing when they see it, and canny enough to use it as much as possible to their advantage.

Get Lost, You Palace-Guard Creeps

As the week ended, Obama's palace guard in the American media were demanding that every other Republican candidate distance himself from Donald Trump's failure to correct, among thousands of attendees at his events, one who apparently is under the reprehensible illusion that the President is a Muslim.
Any candidate who plays this game with the Obamamedia is a fool. Assuming for the sake of argument that the questioner is genuine and not a plant (like, say, the 14-year old all-American schoolboy clockmaker who didn't make a clock at all and is the son of a belligerent Muslim activist and perennial Sudanese presidential candidate whose brother runs a trucking company amusingly called Twin Towers Transportation), putting all of that to one side, there are several entirely reasonable responses one could make to the gentlemen of the press:

Democrats Cash GOP’s Check, Ending Iran Sanctions

I have been wearing readers and my keyboard out for five months over the Republican strategy that abets President Obama’s aiding and comforting of Iran, rather than fighting it with every tool in the constitutional chest.
These critiques of the Corker bill (enacted in May as the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015) have seemed unduly harsh to some GOP leaders and right-of-center pundits. There is a purpose, however, behind my Cassandra-like lament: I have been trying to minimize the damage by persuading Congress to avoid giving the president’s atrocious deal — in particular, its erasure of the sanctions regime that had been squeezing the Iranian regime — the status of formal law...

I see only one way out of this: Republicans must abandon the Corker law. On this score, Obama has given them a gift. By failing to disclose the entire agreement by July 19, he has defaulted on the condition that triggers the Corker review process. A statute does not authorize a president to take action unless the president complies with the statute’s requirements. It is thus not too late for Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) to propose and push through a resolution declaring that Obama’s default renders the Corker review process moot. That Senator McConnell has stubbornly refused to do this boggles the mind.
If Republicans call Obama on his lawlessness, the sanctions can be preserved. If they are derelict, their Corker law will have done what I feared it would do: prevent the next president from undoing Obama’s empowerment of our enemies.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
